There aren’t too many budget-friendly smartwatches in the Apple ecosystem, but the Apple Watch Series 8 remains an excellent option at a lower price — assuming you can actually find one in stock. With the Apple Watch Series 9 now the latest model, finding the older one in stock is increasingly difficult We still think it’s one of the best smartwatches you can buy, and it’s an even better option when you can save some money, too.

The 2022 Apple Watch has all the essential features covered, including workout- and sleep-tracking, heart-rate monitoring, on-wrist notifications and an always-on display. It was the first Apple Watch to come with a temperature sensor, which can be used for ovulation tracking, and it has neat features like car-crash detection so emergency services and contacts can be notified in the event of an accident. Although it’s not as rugged as the Apple Watch Ultra or Apple Watch Ultra 2, the Series 8 is still crack-resistant, IP6X-rated dust-resistant and swim-proof with WR50 water resistance.

Amazon’s discounts are a little erratic, and prices fluctuate constantly. Stocks are also extremely limited, so we would suggest checking the model you want before placing an order anywhere else.

Right now you can save $76 on the 41mm with cellular connectivity, bringing the price down to $443. The deal is only available on the red and black variants at the time of writing, though. Alternatively, some noncellular models can be had for around $400. However, note that these watches are sold by third parties rather than Amazon itself.

Like Amazon, Walmart is offering some savings on the Series 8 right now, but the discounts jump around quite a bit between the different configurations. In addition, many are completely out of stock.

Right now you can get the 41mm cellular variation for $299 — that’s $200 off — if you order it in specific colors.
